Behind every burn survivor is a first responder who made the impossible possible. This blog shares why Healing Home Group partners with fire departments across Colorado—and how together, we're changing what comes after the fire.
When a fire breaks out, firefighters are the first to respond. They run toward danger, pull survivors from flames, and do everything they can to protect life. But their impact doesn’t stop there—and neither should the support for those who survive.
At Healing Home Group, we believe that healing begins after the fire is out. That’s why we’re building partnerships with fire departments across Colorado and beyond—to create a full-circle support system that helps survivors rest, rebuild, and rise long after the sirens stop.
These partnerships matter. Here’s why:
Firefighters Understand the Trauma Firsthand
They’ve seen the aftermath. They know the emotional and physical toll of burn injuries. Many first responders carry deep empathy for survivors because they’ve been there at their worst moment.
They Can Help Survivors Find Us
With strong relationships in place, firefighters and EMTs can help guide survivors and their families to Healing Home Group early in the process—making sure no one has to wonder where to go after the hospital discharge.
They Have a Powerful Voice
When fire departments speak, communities listen. Through outreach, awareness campaigns, and events like our Chipotle fundraiser, our firefighter partners are helping us get the word out and rally public support.
We Share a Mission of Protection
While firefighters protect life in a crisis, HHG protects recovery afterward. Together, we form a safety net—from the scene of the fire to the first day home.
We are incredibly grateful to the departments who’ve already joined hands with us. This is just the beginning.
If you’re part of a fire department or know someone who is, we’d love to connect. Let’s work together to ensure every survivor has a safe place to heal.

The blog introduces the Regenerative Living Study, a new initiative by Healing Home Group, Inc. that seeks to gather firsthand experiences from burn survivors who have received split thickness skin grafts. The study focuses on understanding how these grafts affect mobility, self-esteem, and quality of life, while also exploring the emotional and mental health challenges survivors face long after the initial healing. By collecting these insights, the study aims to advocate for advancements in full thickness skin regeneration and more compassionate, survivor-informed care. The ultimate goal is to influence medical research, regenerative medicine companies, and mental health professionals by highlighting what survivors truly need to heal—not just physically, but holistically. Through this effort, Healing Home Group hopes to drive real change and offer a more hopeful future for those living with burn injuries.
